A Brands Perspective on Influencer Marketing

I've recently taken on a lot of Influencer coordination at my 9-5 job and it has taught me A LOT of invaluable information about THE OTHER side of this business. ✨ The brands perspective!

You're going to want to SAVE this post because I am about to share some helpful tips and practices you can take to increase your chances of getting brand collabs. ⬇️

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⚡️ Put your email in your bio. Brands usually build influencer lists while working on an actual computer. Web IG doesn’t have email connect buttons like the app version does. Having email written in bio makes it easier to contact you. I’ve actually passed up on reaching out to a lot of creators because I don’t feel like looking them up on my phone for their info.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⚡️ Include your name in your bio if it’s not in your handle. This is just best practice in general. Knowing peoples names makes connecting easier.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⚡️ Be kind & professional! The easier you are to work with, the more likely people will be flexible with you. I’ve given repeat jobs to influencers because they were a pleasure to work with.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⚡️ Don't over edit your photos or add to many filters. Brands want to hire you for you, not a crazy sparkly or blurred filter. Plus they want to repurpose your content on their channels so if you have crazy edits they may not think you are the best fit.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⚡️ Respond to emails in a timely manner- I know emails are annoying and can pile up quickly but not responding for a week or longer can lead you missing out on a lot of opportunities!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⚡️ If you are looking to expand your reach to brands, don't be afraid to take gifted collaborations through platforms like Octoly or Fohr. It will help to get you on a brands radar. I have hired multiple influencers after they posted organically about my company
